Winter Storm Recovery for Cliffs Communities and Lake Keowee Communities
January kept our teams watching the forecast. While severe winter weather paused projects and construction, we were still able to serve our home owners in seasonal ways.
When winter storms swept across the Cliffs communities and the shores of Lake Keowee, they arrived with a rare and breathtaking beauty. Snow settled softly on wooded hillsides, glistened along lakefronts, and transformed familiar landscapes into scenes of quiet magic—moments meant to be admired from warm windows and shared with neighbors in awe.
Yet beneath this scenic calm lies a more serious reality. Ice-laden roads, power outages, fallen trees, limited access to emergency services, and home owner fall risks can quickly turn a peaceful snowfall into a threat to safety and property.
Winter ice storm recovery response
We heard the dreaded word ICE and were warned of power outages due to a predicted 1-4 inches of ice! Upon requests, Red Elm was able to prepare home owners’ driveways and walkways with ice melt.
While the ice totals were less than anticipated, 0.5 to 2 inches later, we were all iced in. Not long after the ice, winds of 30-40 mph blew through. A winter storm recovery team visited requesting home owners to take care of ice removal and storm damage. These driveways, walkways, and roadways would have taken days to melt. Thankfully we had them taken care of long before the next storm rolled in.
Winter Snow Storm recovery services
With another storm just days after the ice, home owners requested snow storm services. One owner was planning his gas refill and had to make sure his driveway was clear for the truck. We prepared for a record breaking snow by treating driveways with ice melt.
Over the January 31 and February 1 weekend a storm from the Atlantic dropped 3-7.5 inches on The Cliffs and Lake Keowee areas. While the snow was fun to watch fall, once it was done, a snow crew hurried to our home owners to make sure they were able to access their driveways and community roads. After the snow, arctic air brought in extreme freezing temperatures.
We are thankful for the ability to service our home owners in any season! We have the tools and expertise ready to go when severe weather is forecasted.
